About your teacher Lisa Roberts SYRT BSc Hons
Im delighted to be offering this teacher training after many years of attending teacher trainings, workshops, studying and teaching yoga. I continue to be inspired and learn from these practices and consider it to be a privilege and great gift to both be a teacher and to pass on the teachings.
I began my Yoga practice squashed between the sofa and a woodburner (excellent props) with a book i found in a charity shop in Falmouth. There were no Yoga studios at the time! I was fascinated, hooked and began to seek out teachers wherever i was. I was so fortunate to meet Bridget Woods Kramer when she opened a studio in Truro and began teacher training with her in 2004. I have been studying ever since with Bridget and many other great teachers. I have 20 years teaching experience and now teach regularly at my studio in Topsham and run retreats in Europe.
In my past life before Yoga i studied psychology and global development. I also have a degree in Chinese Medicine and practise acupuncture. My husband and I opened Estuary Clinic, an integrated health clinic in 2013 and are passionate about helping people find good health and happiness.

I began yoga with my mum over 20 years ago and it has been my tool kit for life’s challenges ever since. I began teaching as an Anusara Yoga Teacher – a Vinyasa style – under the close tutelage of Bridget Woods-Kramer (Triyoga, London) in 2005.
I became an Ashtanga practitioner in 2008 and am dedicated to daily practice of this method. I practice up to the fourth posture of fourth series. When my practice changed I studied and teacher trained with John Scott as an Ashtanga Teacher and continue to assist him when he is in the UK.
I am running evening Mysore at Meadowlark from Spring 2019 and teach on their teacher training programme. I am a Senior Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance Professionals.
My extensive trainings in two styles inform my teaching. Most regularly I teach Ashtanga Mysore and Led classes in the traditional method devised by Sri K Pattabhi Jois.
However, I still enjoy teaching vinyasa and power classes. These focus on traditional Hatha yoga postures and are well themed and sequenced, often around specific bio-mechanical alignment principles to help students to practice intelligently and pain free; cleansing their bodies, supporting their nervous and immune systems and quietening the mind, whilst building strength and flexibility.
I am part of a teacher training team at Meadowlark Yoga in Edinburgh and enjoy teaching yoga philosophy and the history of Modern Postural Yoga alongside the Asana, Pranayama and Meditation training.
Lisa and Amy began their journey as nervous new teachers together in Cornwall at Bridgets studio encouraging each other and love nothing more than to hang out and chat all things Yoga.
