Here at the Estuary Clinic Topsham, Exeter we offer a back care course to teach you flexibility and strengthening exercises for the prevention and rehabilitation of back pain.

Strengthen your back, improve your flexibility and posture and learn simple exercises you can continue at home to keep your back healthy, supported and strong.

Our six week back care course is designed by our Physiotherapist Ruth and experienced Yoga Teacher Lisa. It is suitable for all adults with or without back pain as evidence has not only shown that yoga based exercise is beneficial in the management of back pain, it also prevents the occurrence of future episodes. The class is also ideal for mums – pregnancy and childbirth adds stresses to your pelvic girdle and spine and our exercises will be beneficial in reeducating posture and alignment.

Back pain is one of the most common musculoskeletal disorders with 80% of adults experiencing back pain at some point of their life. Most of the time back pain is not caused by any serious illness but is due to poor posture, muscle imbalance and having sedentary life styles and therefore exercise can help.
